Katy Aldredge is an Austin-based Texas lobbyist and government affairs professional, and Principal of Em Dash Strategies. She has more than 15 years of experience inside Texas government, including senior staff roles in the Texas House of Representatives and work in Governor Rick Perry’s administration.

In her last role inside state government, Katy served as Chief of Staff to State Representative Giovanni Capriglione and Committee Director for the House Committee on Delivery of Government Efficiency. Her Capitol career also included directing the House Committees on Appropriations and Pensions, Investments & Financial Services, and staff work on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data privacy, and state technology modernization.

Clients and colleagues know Katy for her ability to make complicated issues understandable, her work ethic, and a practical sense of how legislation actually moves — from concept and drafting through committee, the floor, the Senate, and the executive branch.
