Katy Aldredge
Texas Government Affairs Advisor
Legislative Strategist · Public Policy Consultant
For Katy, Texas government isn’t just a profession — it’s something she’s been surrounded by her entire life.
A proud native Austinite, Katy grew up in the shadow of the Texas Capitol; public policy and politics were part of everyday life. With a father who worked in government relations, she developed an early appreciation for the people, relationships, and ideas that shape Texas. That foundation started a lifelong passion for public service and led to a career spanning nearly two decades in the Texas Capitol.
In her last role inside state government, Katy served as Chief of Staff to State Representative Giovanni Capriglione and Committee Director for the House Committee on Delivery of Government Efficiency. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation as a valued advisor, problem-solver, and relationship-builder who understands both the policy process and the people behind it.
Katy has worked at nearly every level of Texas government, including leadership roles in the Texas House of Representatives, the Office of Governor Rick Perry, and some of the Legislature’s most influential committees, including the House DOGE Committee, House Appropriations Committee, and House Pensions, Investments & Financial Services Committee. She has guided legislation from concept to passage, helped shape legislative agendas, managed complex policy initiatives, coordinated hundreds of stakeholders with varying viewpoints, and worked alongside elected officials, agency leaders, advocates, and constituents from across the state. From state budgeting and appropriations to government efficiency and financial services policy, her experience provides a broad understanding of how Texas government works and how to navigate it successfully.
What sets Katy apart is her ability to make complicated issues understandable and accessible. While her career ultimately took her to the Capitol rather than the classroom, her degree in Elementary Education from Texas State University continues to shape her professional approach every day. Great teachers learn how to communicate complex concepts clearly, listen carefully, adapt to different audiences, build trust, and bring people together around common goals. Those same skills have proven indispensable throughout her government career, allowing her to translate policy into practical conversations to help stakeholders and decision-makers find common ground.
Clients and colleagues know Katy for her positive energy, welcoming personality, and sincere enthusiasm for helping others. Whether confronting a legislative challenge or celebrating a successful outcome, she brings optimism, professionalism, and a team-oriented attitude.
Outside of work, Katy enjoys spending time with her family, especially her cherished nephews, who keep her laughing and remind her of what matters most. She is a proud supporter of Ballet Austin, a devoted Longhorn fan who can be found cheering on the University of Texas sports teams, and an avid traveler with a special love for France and the United Kingdom.
Whether she’s walking the halls of the Capitol, supporting the arts, traveling abroad, or spending time with her family, Katy brings the very same warmth, curiosity, and dedication that have distinguished her career. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships and developing positive outcomes for the communities and organizations she serves.
